Axpo: The Flow of Energy

Axpo, the leading provider of sustainable energy in Switzerland, required a revitalized brand image. Foundry, creative agency where I worked as a Creative Lead, accepted the challenge. Leading a team of 10 creatives, I guided the process of ideating and crafting a fresh identity across numerous platforms: from website design and SoMe presence to print materials, spatial design, trade fair experience, launch campaign and what not – all achieved within a six-month timeframe. This endeavor received two special mentions in the German Design Award 2022 and became the winner of German Brand Award 2023.

Creative insight.

The diverse sources of human energy work together to make Axpo’s vision of the future a reality. The Flow of Energy articulated this idea and formed the base from which all elements of Axpo’s new identity ‘flowed’ out. This creative concept was implemented to 36 local markets of the global brand.
The result was a vibrant, bold and futuristic identity that emphasised the optimism and enthusiasm with which Axpo leads the energy industry. Inspired by Axpo’s new digital-first approach, we created a comprehensive brand guideline system – hosted on a dynamic, digital platform – to cover use cases in print, digital, spatial design, corporate collateral as well as guidelines for event design, signages and merchandise etc.
Developing a smooth user flow for the Axpo website – which spanned hundreds of information-filled pages – was a vital part of the brand’s transformation. Collaborating closely with the Axpo team, we redefined information structures and created design elements to give a sense of space and simplicity.
Axpo spatial design builds on the idea of ‘flow’ – from its unique design to the materials we use. The trade booth reflects the visual style and identity of Axpo, with the help of rounded edges, fluid shapes and bright, open spaces. The materials used in our booth convey our commitment to sustainability and innovation, while creating a comfortable and welcoming ambience.
